This is a good article. While I applaud firefighters' efforts to clear vegetation around giant sequoias, clearing brush and trees close to giant sequoias should not be left to hotshots and other firefighters. It should be done by Federal land management as part of normal land management activities to reduce the threat of destruction to our big, beautiful trees before wildfire threatens them. Yikes!

Thank you, Claudia, for including my site: https://www.facebook.com/SequoiaGrowersAllOverTheWorld. I am trying to get in contact with more growers, and I'm still missing a grower from 4 of our 50 states, and also need more from the southern Hemisphere. Finding naturally regenerating groves outside northern (and southern) California is also a challenge.

Would you like my collection of photos of Giant Sequoias? I could mail them to you at T News or to your home at 118 Clearview. I am just finishing going through ten large boxes of photos! Whew!

Hi Anne,

Are most of your photos from groves in Northern California?
